What Does It Mean To Be Unique?

Something about how people talk about uniqueness doesn't sit right with me. People are often referred to as unique when they have a rare feature or talent that sets them apart from everyone else.

Someone could be musically gifted, exceptionally athletic, or have a different perspective on life. As a result, the world might comment and say, "Wow, this person is so special and unique."

Those qualities can indeed be referred to as unique, but the problem is that rarity and uniqueness are used interchangeably, which is not the case.

There is not a single person on this planet who is not unique. You are unique simply by existing because no one is exactly like you.

That's why freedom of expression is so sacred to embracing your beauty and celebrating you. Clothing, accessories, makeup, decor, and hobbies are all ways that we can show the world that this is me.

It's not a coincidence that none of those things come with instructions or rules. They are simply ways to express yourself and show off your uniqueness.
